So, the wonderful Sidonie Smith had the cutest welcome package waiting for us when we arrived at her apartment in Essen. Included in that package was a bag of Haribo gummy bears:
Since we already “slept” all night on the night train, we can’t sleep so we finally decided to have a taste test and figure out which colors are our faves.
Reddish-orange- a real disappointment. Not a lot of taste and we’re still not sure what flavor it’s supposed to be.
Regular orange- very orangey, kinda has a little bit of orange rind bitterness taste in it
Invisi-bears- the invisibears are pina colada flavored, they got an “I like it!” from Rach.
Yellow- lemon flavored and refreshingly delish. Not a too-tangy lemon, which is often the case but kinda has a urine aftertaste, or what we think urine would taste like
Green- green apple flavored, a solid flavor. Not bad.
Red- raspberry flavored. They really dropped the ball on this one, it could have been way better.

The winner: it’s a toss up between green apple (Katie’s fave) and the orange (Rachael’s fave). Good times!

P.S. I did a little research on the Haribo website and the orange coloured bear is, in fact, orange flavoured. I also learned that there are no peanut products in Haribo gummy bears...in case you were concerned :).
